Membership Dues Renewal

The New Year is quickly approaching!  If you haven't already please consider renewing your West Michigan Chapter APA membership for 2015.  Our chapter year runs from January - December, and as such, all memberships expire on December 31, 2014.  For just $30 (Personal, just for you and paid by you) / $50 (Corporate, for all corporate employees, paid by the company) you can take advantage of the benefits we offer.

To renew your dues, log into your account at and select 'Member Dues'. You can also add the membership dues to your next meeting enrollment. You may select payment via credit card or bypass credit card payment to pay with cash or check. If paying by check, you will still need to register on the website to obtain your invoice.

Iraq Says It Found 50,000 'Ghost Soldiers' on Payroll

BAGHDAD — Iraq's new government has discovered 50,000 "ghost soldiers" who received army salaries without showing up for work, a practice which accelerated the military's collapse in the face of ISIS fighters six months ago. The names were uncovered in an investigation launched by Prime Minister Haidar al-Abadi, who took office in September, his spokesman Rafid Jaburi said. "Ghost soldiers" were men on the army payroll who paid their officers a portion of their salaries and in return did not show up for duty, enriching their commanders and hollowing out the military force.

Plymouth School Department Payroll Mistake Affects More Than 1,300 Employees

Ouch!  You thought your day was bad!  

Instead of receiving their paychecks on Friday, Plymouth Public Schools employees who receive their salary via direct deposit found that the amount they were supposed to have been paid had been withdrawn from their bank accounts.
